SOLAR SUPREMACY JULY 2026 UPDATE!

‍ ‍

I want to pull back the curtain a bit and talk honestly about where Solar Supremacy is, and where it’s going.

After a lot of thinking, planning, and some tough conversations at home, I’ve decided to move the Kickstarter launch to 2027. This is not me giving up on the project, I’m coming to terms with the reality of how long marketing and building a following Takes.

Why I’m Delaying

When I first mapped out the timeline, I focused on game design, art, manufacturing, and logistics—but I underestimated one huge piece: building an audience. For Solar Supremacy to have a real shot on Kickstarter, I need a base of roughly 2,000–4,000 people following the project and excited to show up on day one. Right now, I’m not there yet.

On top of that, I misjudged what serious marketing actually looks like. It’s not just a few posts and some ads—it’s months of consistent content, outreach, playthroughs, reviews, and conversations. That takes both time and money, and I have to be realistic about what I can personally sustain.

The Reality Behind the Scenes

Solar Supremacy is, in practice, a one-person studio.

·    I’m designing the game.

·    I’m coordinating art and development.

·    I’m planning the campaign.

·    I’m handling every bill.

All of this is happening alongside a full-time engineering job and family life. Every dollar that goes into this project is coming out of my pocket, which means I can’t just “slam the gas” for a few months and hope it works out.

The honest truth is: trying to launch in 2026 would mean cutting corners on marketing and getting the follower count where it needs to be for it to be successful.

What More Time Makes Possible

By stretching the timeline into 2027, a few good things happen:

·    I can keep growing the follower base over time, nurturing an actual community rather than chasing quick numbers.

·    I can protect my family time and my health while still pushing the project forward in a sustainable way.

This game is ambitious. It’s meant to be a big, strategic, space-faring experience—not something rushed out the door to “hit a date.” Giving it more time is the only way to honor that vision.

What You Can Expect Going Forward

Even though the launch is moving, Solar Supremacy is very much alive.

Over the next year, I’ll keep:

·    Sharing design diaries and behind-the-scenes looks at mechanics and factions.

·    Continue revealing art, components, and how the game has evolved.

·    Updating you as follower milestones are hit and the campaign plan comes together.

If you’ve been following, commenting, or even just quietly rooting for this project: thank you SO much! That support matters more than you probably realize when you’re building something largely alone.

I’m still all-in on Solar Supremacy, I’ve been working on this game for 6 years now, its not a matter of if it will be published, its a matter of when! I’m just choosing the path that gives it the best chance to succeed—and that keeps me, my family, and the game in a healthy place along the way.
